Construction and special-purpose vehicle/equipment manufacturers in Türkiye have begun preparations for the Bauma 2028 trade fair, to be held in Munich, Germany, on 3–9 April 2028. Sector representatives are planning a broader and more comprehensive participation for 2028, building on the experience gained from their involvement in the 2025 edition.
The sectoral reference of the 2025 participation
At the most recent bauma 2025 trade fair, an international network was established with the participation of thousands of companies from more than 57 countries.
It is known that Turkish manufacturers attracted attention among international visitors by showcasing products and technologies in segments such as superstructure equipment, special-purpose vehicle superstructures, road maintenance equipment, and similar areas. This visibility serves as a strong reference point for the 2028 fair.
Focus areas of the 2028 preparations
Relevant sector associations and manufacturing companies in Türkiye are prioritizing digitalization, sustainability, and technological innovation for the fair process. In particular, preparations are reportedly being made in areas such as:
• Remote monitoring and sensor-based maintenance and management systems,
• Use of lightweight materials and energy-efficient hydraulic circuit designs,
• Electric hydraulic pump units and hybrid power transmission solutions,
• Low-carbon emission production practices.
These orientations are expected to be aligned with the 2028 theme of the fair.
Bauma 2028 theme and global framework
According to information announced by the organizer Messe München, the theme of bauma 2028 has been set as “Connected & Sustainable Construction Technologies”.
Within this scope, digitally connected systems, sustainable construction technologies, and environmentally friendly solutions will be among the main agenda items of the fair. This theme represents an important opportunity in terms of both technical alignment and promotion for participants from Türkiye.
Expected participation and sectoral outlook
Sector representatives believe that, following the strong participation experience in 2025, Türkiye will take part in the 2028 fair with an expanded product range—particularly with electric superstructures, modern hydraulic systems, and environmentally friendly vehicle solutions. This approach is being evaluated as a step aimed at increasing competitiveness in both the domestic market and international markets.
On the other hand, it is clearly stated that the preparations are not part of an officially planned state program or obligation, but are strategies based on sectoral and manufacturer initiatives.
