Domestic suppliers at the heart of the production chain

According to data from the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), the share of locally made parts in commercial vehicle production reached 71% in 2025.
This rate stood at 62% in 2022 and 68% in 2024.
Investments in engines, electronic control units, software-based systems and battery packs were particularly influential in the rise in localization.
As of 2025, more than 1,200 automotive suppliers are actively manufacturing in Türkiye.

New investments come from R&D centers

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the number of R&D centers operating in the automotive field reached 203 by the end of 2025.
Of these centers, 37 directly serve the commercial vehicle segment.
Domestic manufacturers are focusing on domestic software and battery integration, especially for electric and hydrogen-assisted systems.
The Kocaeli, Bursa and Sakarya regions account for 68% of the commercial vehicle supply cluster.

Export growth in the supply chain

According to data from the Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD), automotive supply industry exports reached USD 9.1 billion in the first nine months of 2025.
Approximately 40% of these exports consisted of commercial vehicle components.
The top export destinations were Germany, Poland, France, Italy and Spain.
TAYSAD Chairman Albert Saydam noted that domestic engineering solutions are gaining an increasingly large share among the sector’s export items.
