This notice informs visitors to the LoE News website and people using its related contact channels under Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”). This notice is not a declaration of explicit consent.
1 Data controller and scope
Data controller: Sihirbazlar Sokağı Basın Yayın Matbaacılık Reklamcılık Nakliyecilik Ticaret Ltd. Şti.
KVKK request and contact address: Harbiye Mah. Bostan Sok. Louis Vuitton Orjin Apartmanı No 15 Kat 5, 34367 Nişantaşı, Şişli, İstanbul / Türkiye
Email: [email protected] | Telephone: +90 212 373 94 59 | Website: loenews.com
This notice covers website access; news, press releases, advertising, cooperation, industry announcements, feedback and correction requests submitted by contact form, email and telephone; website security; and consented analytics measurement. Separate contractual, employee or applicant processes are covered by notices specific to those activities.
2 Personal data processed
We may process the name, company or organisation, country, email and telephone details you supply; the selected subject, message and personal data in files and links you send; and responses and correspondence records.
Website and security operations may process IP addresses, access times, browser and device details, technical logs and security assessments. Preference management may process consent status and records of the choice. With analytics consent, visit and session identifiers, page and interaction data, and device and browser information may be processed for measurement.
3 Purposes and legal bases
| Process and purpose | Data group | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Assess and respond to general contact and editorial requests | Identity, contact, message and correspondence information | KVKK Article 5/2-f; legitimate interest in communication and publishing without harming fundamental rights |
| Establish and perform advertising or cooperation contracts | Necessary identity, contact and enquiry information relating to the contracting party | KVKK Article 5/2-c; necessary processing directly related to establishing or performing a contract |
| Provide the website, resolve technical failures and prevent spam and bot risks | Access, device, browser, log and necessary security information | KVKK Article 5/2-f; legitimate interest in providing a secure service |
| Conduct analytics measurement and reporting | Consented visit, session and interaction data | KVKK Article 5/1; explicit consent to the analytics category |
| Apply preferences and retain consent records | Preference and necessary record information | Applying preferences: Article 5/2-f; demonstrating information and consent obligations: Article 5/2-ç and, where necessary, Article 5/2-e |
| Respond to legal requests and protect rights | Request, contact and related transaction records | Legal obligation: Article 5/2-ç; establishment, exercise or protection of a right: Article 5/2-e |
The legitimate interest basis applies only where processing is necessary, proportionate and does not harm the data subject’s fundamental rights and freedoms. Measurement or tracking exceeding the security purpose is not automatically covered by this basis simply because it is called a security service.
4 Collection methods
Data is collected by automated or partly automated means through forms and attached files, email and telephone communications, browser and server records, security integrations, cookies and the preference management system; where applicable, through correspondence records that form part of a data filing system.
5 Recipient groups and transfer purposes
Contact and enquiry data may be shared with authorised Company personnel for assessment and response, and with email, hosting and technical maintenance providers used to transmit or retain records. Technical access and security data is processed with the relevant infrastructure and security providers to deliver and protect the website; form security data with Google reCAPTCHA; and consented analytics data with Google Analytics.
Request and dispute records may be transferred to legal advisers to protect rights and to competent public bodies or courts within their statutory powers. Transfers are limited to their purpose and the necessary data groups; Article 8 of the KVKK is taken into account for domestic transfers.
6 Transfers abroad
Services such as Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA may involve processing data in infrastructure outside Türkiye or access to data from abroad. For hosting and email services, actual infrastructure and access conditions are also decisive.
Transfers abroad require fulfilment of the conditions in Article 9 of the KVKK. For regular transfers, an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguard mechanism is determined separately. In the absence of an adequacy decision and appropriate safeguards, statutory exceptions may be used only for occasional transfers meeting their conditions. Analytics cookie consent does not mean that these separate transfer conditions have been met.
7 Retention and disposal
Contact records are retained for the period needed to resolve the enquiry and pursue necessary legal follow-up; technical and security records for the limited period required for security; and preference and consent records for the period needed to apply the choice and demonstrate compliance. Analytics data is held in accordance with the service’s retention settings and processing purpose. Device-side cookie retention is explained in the Cookie Policy.
When processing conditions cease to apply, data is disposed of through applicable erasure, destruction or anonymisation procedures. Withdrawing consent stops future consent-based processing; erasure of previous records is considered separately.
8 Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you may learn whether your personal data is processed; request information if it has been processed; learn the purpose and whether use is consistent with it; and learn which third parties receive data domestically or abroad. You may request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data and erasure or destruction where statutory conditions are met.
You may request notification of correction, erasure or destruction to third-party recipients; object to a result against you arising from analysis exclusively through automated systems; and seek compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
9 Request procedure
You can submit requests in writing to the KVKK request address above or to [email protected] from the email address previously supplied to the Company and registered in its system. Requests are assessed under the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for Requests to the Data Controller.
Requests must contain your name and surname; signature for written requests; Turkish identity number for Turkish citizens; nationality and passport number or, if available, identity number for foreign nationals; residential or business address for notifications; and the subject of the request. Where available, include the notification email, telephone and fax details and relevant documents. These are requirements for formal KVKK requests, not mandatory fields of the general contact form.
Requests are resolved as soon as possible according to their nature and within 30 days at the latest. If the process entails additional costs, the fee prescribed by legislation may apply. The response is provided in writing or electronically.
10 Distinction between information and consent
Reading this notice or submitting the contact form does not constitute explicit consent to all processing activities. Analytics consent is obtained separately in the cookie management panel and can be withdrawn. The notice link is made accessible before personal data is obtained.
